One of the reasons this sound feels so difficult is that many learners simply can’t hear it properly yet – so their mouth has no idea what it’s aiming for. How can we replicate what we can’t actually hear (yet)?
That’s where my Reverse Learning Technique comes in. It is exactly how I learnt, quite by chance, to improve my French pronunciation.
Instead of waiting for your ear to magically “catch” the sound first, I show you exactly how to position your mouth, lips, and tongue so you can start producing a much closer version of the native sound straight away. Once your mouth starts making the right movements and sound, your ear gradually begins to recognise it too.
We then link this physical pronunciation work to the spelling patterns you see in real French words, helping you train both your mouth muscles and your listening skills together.
It doesn’t usually happen overnight — and that’s completely normal — but you’ll leave knowing that you’re already making a sound much closer to authentic French than before, with a clear pathway to keep improving.
