Meet Frannie- a teacher obsessed with everyday French expressions!
My name is Frannie and I have been helping people on their path to French fluency for over 20 years. I am a qualified teacher (BA Hons, PGCE, QTS) and mother to two bilingual, adult children. Although, I live in the UK, I have lived and worked in France, I know exactly what it feels like to be thrown in at the deep end!
Moreover, I know what it feels like to not fully understand what is being said and how frustrating it is when you think that others are unable to understand you. In the past, I have struggled to find my French voice, and I know how difficult it can be to find the courage to just go for it!
However, after the initial shock of finding out that my French didn’t quite cut the Dijon mustard, I decided to make it my mission to discover as many everyday phrases, idioms and expressions as I could to try and sound as French as possible.
My learning torch shines bright and every day I delight in learning something new in French! I would like to share with you what I know, so that you may get to the same point a little quicker than I did! It would be fabulous if I could give you some tools to help you get started in forging relationships with your French friends so that they can get to know the real you.
The Everyday French Expressions Workshop
What can you expect from this workshop?
- This is a fun, live and interactive 3 hour session delivered via Zoom with an accompanying, downloadable PDF work booklet.
- I will introduce you to over 90 everyday French expressions, with plenty of opportunities to practise pronunciation and take notes.
- The format will be a combination of teacher-led and small group (3-4 people per group) practice opportunities where you will put the new language into action in games and role-plays. I will “drop-in” to support and guide you.
- There will be an opportunity to grab a coffee (or un verre de vin) at half-time!
We will be covering:
- New ways of asking others how they are, and expressing how you are feeling.
- Expressing agreement
- Different ways of expressing disagreement
- Giving your opinions on something
- Useful “fillers”
- Some great alternatives to swearing in French (should you wish to avoid swearing!).
